Maanasa, which means ‘of the mind’, is about:
- the mental health and well-being of Indians.
- learning, spreading the word and destigmatising the current notion about mental health.
- empowering people with information and knowledge so that they can make informed choices.
Stated simply, Maanasa is about and for the average Indian, the common person, irrespective of age, sex, religion, region, financial status and any other dividing factor / demography.
Maanasa will be providing mental health related helpline numbers pan India and articles curated specifically for Indians. It will also include information related to psychiatrists and mental health professionals and centres across India.
Maanasa’s logo is made of three parts:
- A rising blue phoenix on the top
- The term ‘Maanasa’ / मानसा in the middle
- The tagline ‘Reinventing ourselves’ at the bottom
‘Feeling blue’ indicates a sense of sadness that could encompass a range of emotions from depression to dejection to sorrow and so much more and is often associated with mental health issues. Our blue phoenix, while acknowledging this, is about rising again from the mental health challenge(s) one may have and recreating oneself every single time. Reinventing oneself ongoingly, as if saying, ‘Do not underestimate the power of the blue flame – we are the hottest!’
